Acknowledged heir for the Shotokan martial art tradition, it's the only authorized martial arts organization formally licensed by the Japanese federal government as being an organization of people for the marketing of karate, and given a tax-free position. Most importantly, the Japan Karate Association is definitely the preserver of the heart and soul of the style of kokufo-bunka karate-do.

Black Ninja Clothing In The Movies

on Tue, 01/07/2014 - 18:43

I have always wanted  to wear the ninja clothing that Michael Dudikoff wore in the American Ninja Movies from the 1980's. Those outfits were really cool. Even though I do not train in Taijitsu or other Japanese styles (I am a kung fu student) I have always found this art interesting and mysterious. They always had something hidden in their clothing. Either a shuriken or some sort of dart.

So as I was looking around the other day I found this site that sells black ninja clothing: Looks pretty close to what was in the movie.

Ninja Foot Spikes? Real Stuff Used

on Thu, 01/02/2014 - 21:36

My question is: Is the ninja foot spike a real tool that they used or is it something that was made up to sell product? I went and did some research and according to some sites it is a very real tool used by the ninja. However the ninja only used them to help them scale trees and other wooden items. Such as the gates and walls of old castles. Since in Japan old forts were made of wood and not stone.

So where can I get an authentic pait of ninja foot spikes also known as Ashiko? I found a place: and they only cost about $12!!!!

More Women Doing Martial Arts

on Mon, 12/09/2013 - 21:12

When we think of the martial arts we do not always think about women doing it. But if you think about it women are the people most in need of knowing how to defend themselves. Mostly it has been practiced by men up until recently. There have always been a small percentage of women doing the martial arts but it has been a very small amount. But today there is a larger amount of women training in various martial art styles. I would say the number is up to 20% women and 80% men. That may not seem like a lot but if you comapre it to years before that is a huge improvement.
